What Is The Radiesse® Procedure?
Radiesse® is injected in small amounts into the areas targeted for treatment using a very fine needle. A topical anesthetic may be applied prior to treatment or a liquid anesthetic may be mixed with the product to minimize discomfort. Lidocaine, an anesthetic, may also be mixed with the product to minimize discomfort during injection. The entire Radiesse® treatment typically takes about 15 minutes to complete. Although some swelling and bruising may be present after treatment, this should fade within a few days. Patients can apply an ice pack or cold compress to the injection site after treatment to reduce swelling. Most patients are able to resume normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
What Results Can I Expect From Radiesse®?
Results of treatment with Radiesse® are often immediately visible. The effects of Radiesse® may last twelve to eighteen months, significantly longer than other
injectable treatments. Occasional touch-up treatments with Radiesse® can maintain the effects for longer periods.
